Development at what Cost

Save the Elephant Habitat in Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve

In the Nilgiris Eastern Ghat Elephant Reserve, part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and proposed Sathyamangalam Wildlife Sanctuary, a railway line would pass through 58 km of dense forest area requiring 30 meters on either side from the centerline of the track all along the length of the proposed railway line in forest area for about 58 km. That includes approach road to track space for collection of ballast and for any emergency recoupment of materials near the track passing through erstwhile Veerappan territories like Talawadi, Gattawadi and bannari. On completion, the railway line would have 277 bridges, 138 curves and 61 tunnels. Imagine about the men and machinery that will move into this elephant habitat once the construction works get started (even the survey work requires `felling of trees of spontaneous growth in meager level wherever is necessary).

Buffet is back

We are happy to announce that Buffet lunches are back at Dal Fryday. We have been getting enquiries for buffet lunches from as far as airport road ;). This has prompted us to do a relook on the buffet lunch at Dal Fryday.

Vegetarian buffet lunches would now be available at the restaurant every Wednesday starting from 23 May. We plan to introduce Lunch buffets on other week days over a period of time as per demand. If you require non vegetarian buffets to be organized do send us an email. Non vegetarian buffets can be organized provided you give us a days notice and confirm a minimum guaranteed pax along with an advance.

We are also extending a 15% off on our ala carte prices w.e.f 1 June 2007. This would also be applicable for Lunch only. You would however require to present our discount voucher to avail this offer. The discount voucher, starting next month will be distributed freely by our staff at regular intervals infront of HSBC / Accenture / Honeywell offices. Sometimes the boys would be wearing an invisible cloak, so if you happen to miss them dont worry you can always send us an email and we would reply you with a coupon which you can print out (please reuse paper by printing on the reverse) and avail the offer.
